As part of Engineers Week Ireland 2017, the Transition Year students took part in a Spaghetti Bridge building competition recently. The girls built their bridges using just 1kg of spaghetti, sellotape and lots of creativity. On Thursday 9th of March we headed to DIT Bolton Street where the girls were treated to a look inside some of the practical laboratories, which was followed by a test of their bridges. The tests were carried out by some civil & structural engineering students to see how much weight they could hold. After a lot of tense moments one of our bridges managed to claim second place. Well done to all the girls involved.
