Make A Book 2020
1 Swift participated in this year’s Make A Book project in the library with teachers Ms Moore and Ms Leahy. Their book researched French and Spanish breakfast culture and as part of the project they planned and hosted a French/Spanish breakfast morning for 1 Marie Curie. This was a fantastic cross-curricular project for the students, encompassing French, Spanish, IT, Home Economics and English! JCSP Statements completed were ‘Make A Book’ and ‘Organising and Planning of a School Function’. On March 5th, students attended the Make A Book exhibition at 4 star Roganstown House Hotel, with schools from Dublin and Monaghan. They displayed their book and made an oral presentation explaining the research, process and creation of the finished book.
Library pal GMC Beats was there to entertain us and our students made us proud by volunteering to perform their hit song ‘My Girls’. The day wrapped up with a hot lunch in the hotel!
