On Wednesday 8th March the 6LCA class attended an event in the RECO in Ballymun to celebrate International Women’s Day. There was a Phenomenal Women’s Tea Party at which girls from local schools got to hear female speakers talk about how they got to be a success in their careers. The speakers were a local businesswoman, a female Garda, a female Adult Literacy teacher and a female professional boxer. They each spoke about their experiences and told the girls how they built up their careers to the successes they are today.
The girls were able to ask questions and got a lot of information from the businesswoman who has her own business in Ballymun selling sauces and soups. This was part of a Key Assignment for their course. It was a very enjoyable event for all and the tea and cakes were enjoyed by all the girls. Thanks to the RECO for inviting us.
