‘Margaret Aylward Community College seeks to encourage all to achieve their full potential in a supportive atmosphere which respects diversity. The school welcomes the involvement of parents and community in developing the skills necessary for students to become self-motivating members of society’
The Whole School Guidance Plan reflects the student-centred philosophy which underpins the Margaret Aylward Community College mission statement. Its key goals are the fostering of self-esteem, and the development of potential – academic, personal and emotional- leading to the greater empowerment of each student.
The guidance counselling service is seen as having a central role in the continuous developmental process of each individual student, which begins prior to the entry of the student to Margaret Aylward Community College, and concludes after the student leaves.
